Thomas F. Fashouer, M.Ed., A.T.C. - Director of RehabilitationTom is Director of Rehabilitation at Albany Physical Therapy. He began his career in sports medicine and rehabilitation as a certified athletic trainer at Union College in Schenectady. From 1988 to 1992, Tom served as Director of Rehabilitation for Sports Medicine Albany, a division of Stuyvesant Orthopedic Services, a practice which he then purchased. Heading up the organization first under the name Sports Therapy Albany and now Albany Physical Therapy, Tom has implemented many new physical therapy programs, including vestibular rehabilitation, aquatic physical therapy and cancer rehabilitation, and has set up educational and corporate wellness seminars throughout the region. A longtime Guilderland resident, Tom's professional and community affiliations include a 25-year membership in the National Athletic Trainers Association and acting as consultant to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. He has also served as president of the New York State Athletic Trainers Association, and is the Regional Coordinator of Coaching Certification for Questar III. Americo "Rick" J. Leva, P.T. Rick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy in 1988 from Quinnipiac College, joined Albany Physical Therapy in 1989, and has served as head physical therapist since 1993. His areas of specialty include orthopedic, vestibular and sports physical therapy. Prior to joining Albany Physical Therapy, Rick was employed as a staff physical therapist at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Carey Donohue-Lawson, P.T. Carey received her Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from Russell Sage College in 1993, and began at Albany Physical Therapy two years later. She specializes in vestibular rehabilitation, aquatic physical therapy, headache, biofeedback and orthopedic physical therapy, and established the practice's Cancer Rehabilitation Program in 2004. Bridget Bidwell, P.T. Bridget received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from Quinnipiac College in 2000. Prior to joining Albany Physical Therapy in 2003, she worked as both a consultant at a skilled nursing facility and a staff physical therapist in a busy orthopedic clinic. Along with providing patients with vestibular rehabilitation, aquatic physical therapy and orthopedic physical therapy, she also directs Albany Physical Therapy's Back Education Program. Maria R. Brown, P.T.A. A 1986 graduate of Maria College with an Associates of Science degree in physical therapy, Maria has been practicing at Albany Physical Therapy since 1989. Her specialty is the rehabilitation of patients with chronic low back and neck pain. Lisa Lockett, P.T.A. Lisa earned her Associates of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Maria College in 2001. She specializes in the areas of general, orthopedic, aquatic and spinal physical therapy. Sharon Brodie, A.T.C. Sharon both earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Keene State College and joined Albany Physical Therapy in 1998. A New York State and National Athletic Trainers Association Certified Athletic Trainer, she provides athletic training services to area high schools, colleges and community sports teams through the practice's community outreach program. In order to provide the highest quality of care, we make sure that patients work exclusively with the same physical therapist each time they visit the office. This policy promotes consistency and ensures a solid working relationship between patient and therapist. Initial evaluation and complete progress and discharge reports will be sent to the referring health care provider.
