Vestibular Rehabilitation
Feeling off-balance?

Some 76 million Americans will at some point experience dizziness or balance problems, which, if left untreated, can continue to cause undue suffering for the rest of their lives. Chronic vestibular (inner ear) problems often cause a sense of motion or falling with change in head position, a feeling of motion when watching movement, such as an escalator at the mall, or unsteadiness or loss of surefootedness.

Our Vestibular Rehabilitation program provides proven, effective treatment for patients like these. Therapists on staff, trained at the American Institute of Balance, have successfully treated hundreds of patients by helping to quickly eliminate their symptoms and making them feel better in the process.

Patients are placed in one of four categories:

Cancer Rehabilitation

Cancer and cancer treatment can produce various side effects that hinder patient's recovery and their return to full function. Physical Therapy can be beneficial when used as an adjunct in the patient's recovery.

Physical Therapy treatment focuses on increasing strength and flexibility, improving cardiovascular and aerobic function, as well as introducing balance training and relaxation techniques. Soft tissue mobilization can be performed to minimize pain and to maximize range of motion and soft tissue extensibility.

Physical Therapy treatment begins with an evaluation by a Physical Therapist to identify objective and subjective findings and to set rehabilitation goals. An individualized treatment plan is designed based on this assessment. Treatment is customized to best meet the individual goals and to optimize the patient's functional level. The Physical Therapy program may include flexibility, cardiovascular, breathing, weight training, and balance therapy as well as manual Physical Therapy techniques for treatment of scar and soft tissue adhesions.

Physical Therapy can be an integral part in the treatment and recovery of cancer patients. When used as an adjunct to cancer treatment, Physical Therapy treatment can play an important role to help decrease pain and fatigue as well as improve the patient's functional activity level. Physical Therapy also allows patients to take a more active role in their recovery process.
